Tips for Planning the Perfect Winter Wedding

There is something so magical and romantic about a winter wedding. As the notion of the "wedding season" begins to dissolve, we are seeing an uptick in "off season" weddings ie: Winter and Fall weddings. Take a peek at our tips below for planning the perfect winter wedding!

  • Start with your theme. Whether your style is glam, rustic or bohemian, all three lend themselves to making a great theme for your winter wedding
  • Keep your guests warm with blankets, hot beverages and a cozy fire (venue permitting)
  • Plan a warm lighting concept. As it is winter, it will get darker earlier in the day. Make your guests feel cozy and comfortable by choosing dimmer lights with orange hues versus harsh white lights. White tea light candles are a perfect way to achieve that warm glow!
  • A warm, hearty meal with keep guests happy along with a selection of seasonal beverages, eggnog anyone?

  • Send your guests home with a cute hot chocolate kit, sugar cookies or even gold dusted macaroons for an extra touch of elegance
  • Opt for tasteful, subtle nods to the season. Incorporating wreaths made with seasonal greenery is a cost effective way to add warmth and texture to your decor. Seasonal blossoms such as winter jasmine or poinsettias are also a great option
  • When choosing colors, go for rich jewel tones such as emerald green, plum, navy, and ruby red. Accent with metallics such as gold, silver and copper.
  • Take advantage of the snow by using it as a backdrop for some gorgeous outdoor photos
  • Plan for inclement weather which may cause travel delays for guests
  • Lastly, don't forget to accessorize your wedding gown with boots or a shawl to add some glam while staying warm!
